Trying to Figure Out An Idea

I have been playing around with ideas for what the cause to get involved with is. One movement I am familiar with from first hand experience is the planned building of an ethanol plant in Corunna. This is just south of my hometown, Point Edward, which is right outside Sarnia. Chemical Valley is actually located in Corunna. It is not uncommon to hear the emergency siren go off and see the television turn black while it tells you to close all your windows because of a spill.

Corunna is a growing village with a lot of subdivisions. Over the summer they have planned to build an ethanol plant in people’s backyards. I worked with a woman this summer who was one of the people this is affecting. The only problem I see here is that they already achieve. It effects a lot of the Native Reserves in the area as well and they have been voicing their complaints and receiving attention for it.

My other idea is to bring Buy Nothing Day to Sarnia. I am pretty sure that the city has never celebrated this before. It seems sort of strange since Buy Nothing Day receives so much coverage in the media. It is even on CNN’s news-ticker. I think the city could benefit from spreading the word. Even if people’s laugh at the idea, at least they will have heard of it.
